The one you described is a 15v adapter (with a max capacity of 1 amp), so it's a matter of finding out what you have that requires 15v. I should add that 1 amp (or 1,000 ma) is pretty heavy duty, so it's probably for something like a small portable B/W TV or music keyboard that uses like 6 D cells, etc.
